Updating Your Bot's Second Life Username

If you've paid to change your bot's Second Life account name, your bot won't be able to log in until you update its login information in the MoonBots dashboard. This guide walks you through it step by step.

Before You Start

Make sure the name change has already gone through on the Second Life side. If your bot's new name isn't active yet, MoonBots won't be able to log in with it.

Step 1: Open Login Information

  1. Log in to your bot's MoonBots dashboard.
  2. Find the "My Moonbot Account" section in the upper right corner.
  3. Click "Login Information."

The Login Information link is under My Moonbot Account.

Step 2: Update the Username

  1. In the popup window, find the "Update Bot Username" field.
  2. Enter your bot's new Second Life username.
  3. Leave the password field blank unless your bot's password has also changed.
  4. Click "Update Information" to save.

Enter the new username, then click Update Information.

Good to Know

The password field is the same password your bot uses to log into Second Life itself, not a MoonBots password. Only fill it in if that has changed too.

After updating, give your bot a few minutes and then try logging it in again from the dashboard.

Still Having Trouble?

If your bot still won't log in after updating its username, double-check that the new name is typed exactly as it appears in Second Life, then reach out to MoonBots support for help.
